Katayoun, an Amsterdam-based DJ, selector, and curator, researches, preserves, and shares Iran's sonic history. Her Iranian Music Archives project includes Female Vocalists from Iran and Beyond (2018 – present), a radio show exploring various genres and eras (1930s – 1980s). With Sonic Imaginaries at Kiosk Radio, she expands this work, linking Iran's sonic heritage to Latin music, jazz fusion, and funk. Her warm, dreamlike sound has taken her from supporting Sevdaliza to performing at festivals, museums, and nightlife events. A natural crowd-mover, she seamlessly blends global sounds into vibrant, border-crossing party sets.
