This interactive talk provides an opportunity to understand the historical context that abolition theory has in Dutch history.
Oscar Talbot will cover some of the most prominent thinkers in Dutch and European abolition theory. Please note, this is far from comprehensive! If you have experience with activists working on abolition please come and share your knowledge - especially if it concerns important thinkers of colour! We will also use this opportunity to run a workshop to focus on abolition demands in the Netherlands. Whether you are committed to abolishing everything or are still not certain what abolition actually means this event will be a chance to delve into one of the most vibrant movements of the modern era.
Oscar Talbot is an activist and scholar working on abolition and climate change. He is currently working on a PhD in philosophy at the University of Amsterdam.
