We will address ways to show solidarity with migrants who are excluded or segregated in public transport, health care, education, labour, housing, even from food banks and homeless shelters.
Migrants are excluded or segregated in public transport, health care, education, labour, housing, even from food banks and homeless shelters. Laws and policies such as the Koppelingswet have made many institutions, companies and NGOs complicit in discrimination based on residence status. The segregation is supported by some social movements, from labour movements blaming migrants for suppressing wages to climate movements claiming climate action will help keep migrants out.
The good news is that this means there are many places to resist. In this workshop, we will address ways to show solidarity as an social movement as well as a human being.
