When squatting you always see the men be the ones breaking the lock. The able bodied white men breaking the lock to be exact. Breaking the lock is this masculine moment that is key when squatting. Because it's so important that it goes well, it's often the same people who are breaking the lock all the time. People who already know how to handle tools because they were pushed into a tool-handling gender role.
