Alchemy of Commons: Mapping the Ontology of Community

An interactive workshop to share our research Alchemy of Commons and invite the audience to try out our “The Ontology of Community, ” which is a research framework and tool developed for self-organizing communities / collections to understand the status, potentials and challenges.

Many self-organizing activist communities face significant challenges in sustaining collective efforts for social transformation within a system that lacks structural support. Unlike many organizational tools that focus on boosting efficiency and productivity, our project emphasises the activist nature and the sustained need for warmth and attention of those communities, covering a wider range of considerations such as the practice of solidarity and the transformation of individuals and society.

The interactive lecture we offer in 2.Dh5 will be a teaser of the overall project, including an overview of the project and an interactive session that invites the audience to participate in mapping a fictional community and learn to “read ” a community.
