Patriarkraakt and MenSEN both focus on transforming masculinities & work to show, discuss and change ways in which negative masculinities damage us all and especially flinta-people on the personal, social, community and societal level. In this session open to all genders we want to discuss the gap between our movements and our activists vocal commitment to feminism and healthy gender relations, while at the same time much of the damaging praxis from the mainstream world remains intact. People who've internalized masculinity and especially non-flinta people have an important role to play in this which they have neglected for too long, to the detriment of all.
We want to discuss in what ways traditional gender norms and patterns continue to influence us, in what ways we are managing to do better and what we can do and need to truly transform gender(relations) in our scene. This will help people get understanding into the damaging workings of gender, how we've all internalized aspects of it, help people with starting to discuss this more holistically and give people tools to challenge and change these norms. We all need healthier gender relations, we all deserve healthier gender relations.
